A Bending Smartphone, The Galaxy Fold

After Samsung teased us with a new concept bending phone last year, finally its here.  Samsung introduces the Galaxy Fold and they will rolling them out this year.

It has a 4.6 inch touch screen display when folded then expands to a 7.3 inch when opened.  They call the fold the "Infinity Flex" which can be opened and folded many times over, thanks to the revolutionary hinge that they developed plus the plastic polymer screen they invented.  We have seen other bending phones prior and we have seen physical creases near the bends, for the Samsung version, we not see this.  With the constant open and close of this thing, can we see those physical creases or bend?  Time will tell.  Still, the phone looks amazing closed or opened.

With the increased size, real estate space can now have two batteries on each side, now to power up this huge baby, Samsung increased the hardware as well.  Powering it with a 7 nanometer processor, a big 12GB of RAM, coupled with 512GB of onboard storage.  Serious hardware indeed.  Add to the fact that it has six cameras spaced all thoughout the phone.

With the increase in everything, the Galaxy Fold can now multi task with three apps at once, splitting the screen into three if commanded.  That's the complex function of this thing.  Simple ones, like app continuity, when in smartphone folded mode, whatever is on that screen, when unfolded, the view expands as well.  Talk about amazing.

It retails in the US for USD1,980 when it delivers on April 26.  Lets see in a few months how much this thing cost when it reaches the Philippines.
