A new Mac Pro is coming. Is this for you?

Who wants the new Mac Pro that starts at USD5,999?  Professional creatives finally heaved a sigh of relief knowing that Apple has finally answered their pleas, as most were already migrating to the world of Windows.

For those rejoicing already, hold that thought.  Here are some of the things we would like to watch out when the new Mac Pro does come out.

First off is the price.  The entry level model starts with USD5,999 and it comes with an 8 core, 16 threads, 3.5GHz, 4.0 GHz TB, 24.5MB Cache.  The price goes higher with the 12, 16, 24 and 28 core variants come out.  The price point will push this product away from most of the Mac users.  Only professional creatives with big production houses can well afford to pay for this and earn off from it enough to make a profit.

Second, it still doesn't have Nvidia support.  For 3D and visual effects creatives this is a let down as most programs or apps perform well with PC's who have Nvidia graphics in them.  Although Apple used the latest AMD Radeon Cards in them, which promises blazing performance, it still doesn't stack well against the former.

and lastly, industry experts believed that Apple ended up making a product that is far more in the higher end of the scale what most its loyal consumers actually wanted.  Creatives mostly are still loyal to Nvidia and will easily be persuaded to stay or transfer to the new Mac Pro.  Creatives are promised that rendering software designed for Nvidia are finally being re-encoded to work with these Radeon cards.  Their question remains, why use a new program when they are happy with the status quo and have lots of support already.  Will they risk using the new one and use the version 1.0 of the these re-encoded software?  This is something that we will have to see when the new Mac Pro ships out.
